Corner What to do

Right now I am trying to see what to do about this area right at the corner of the house. I'm not sure it would look better with a big whiskey barrel planter and have flower in it, put a bush/hedge, or to ground up the area and have a mulch bed type of area with flowers.

Oh yeah the screen isn't their now, that was just to paint the windows.

Here is a couple of quick drawing from microsoft paint just to give a idea of what I am talking about. They are bad drawings but just an idea.

EUONYMUS japonicus 'Albo marginatus' (http://www.burncoose.co.uk/site/plants.cfm?pl_id=1826) type of bush and maybe some hostas around the front


1 bush, maybe 2 tulips (or a group together) on each ends, and some small flowers between the tulips.


1 big purple color plant, then some medium yellowish (daisy's or so), and then maybe some some ground covering plants like creeping jenny around the bottom.
