Taking Tree Out

The first thing I did was to remove the pine tree in the front yard. It kind of covered the house and took away from the front yard. It also was wide enough that the second car behind my truck would open their door into the pine tree and that is just annoying. After removing the tree it really has opened up the front yard.

Breezeway

The first couple of times I saw the breeze way I wasn't sure if I would use that area or how. Then as I thought about it, I started to get some ideas after looking around the internet and going around to Lowes and Home Depot. Now I think I might just add more gravel in the area and put a small bench across the living room window, you can watch tv outside idea. Then in the right corner maybe build a small worm bed, worms for fishing and compost for plants. Then I could also add a couple of planters and plats out in that area to make it look better. I have also thought about a hammock instead of a bench.

Patio

Right now the patio area is more of a carport and slab behind the garage and back of house. I am going to screen in the carport area so that way during warmer weather you can do sit outside and not have to worry about rain or bugs. I will most likely keep the patio side and yard side just screen and more open, but I'm not sure about the street side. I am going to build privacy fence for the backyard so I might just continue it along the carport area so you get privacy from the street and people can't see your patio furniture.

Front of House

There is a couple of hanging on the columns, for plants or lights, so I'm not sure if I want to put plants out there or put a couple of solar powered light on the hangers. I might put the solar powered lights so at nights the front is light up enough and not have to use electricity or worry about watering.

I'm not sure if I want to keep the pine tree there or take it out. Also their is a little bit of a wooden fence that is kind of falling apart that I might just put it together enough to give that fence look. I will definitely add a lot more gravel to help make the driveway part better.

Utility Room

The uility room isn't any special but it does have enough room for a washer and dryer hookup and being side by side. Has plenty of room for cleaners, brooms, hanging up cloths, etc... so I might use that room more then I think. It also leads to the back yard.

Living Room

The living room is the same size as the dinning room, but again it's nice and cozy for me.

I will have a couch, loveseat, and tv in this room and I would like to add a electric fire place if I have enough room.

Dinning Room Area

I really like the tile floor which in in the dinning room, kitchen, and living room. Their is no carpet in the house so that means any spills are easy to clean and no permanent stain. I also like the color on the walls

Kitchen

The cabinets look new and the tile floor looks some what new too, so they might have just remodeled not to long ago.

I does come with a flat top stove, which I like. I'm not much of a cooker, so I guess I will be learning fast, but I like the flat top surface because it's easy to clean and you can place thing on it like a top table top, just don't turn it on.

It's a small little kitchen but great for just me. The kitchen also opens up to a dinnering room area.

Bedroom

Some where down the road I will refinish the hardwood floors. When I do refinish the floors I think I may stain the furniture the same as the floor so they will match. I will have to get a girls opinion on that one.

I like the colors because, to me atleast, kind of give a earthy feel with the brown floors and green walls, kind of like dirt and trees/plants, to me atleast.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a little small, but again it's just me so I don't need a family size bathroom for one person.

I have gotten some things that will match my personality with a fish type shower curtain and some matching towels, but I think they are still casual/nice enough that is will still look good and not tacky.

1st House

I am in the process of buying a new house and I am excited to have my own place. Then I can put things where ever I want and have just my stuff, and not any one else's stuff.

I wouldn't have to be woken up earlier, or really lat e at night, because of others in the house. I don't have to worry about being blocked in.

My new house is a older home, 1940's or so, but it is going to be in East Nashville area so I will be close to a lot of stuff. I'm close to the Titans stadium and I'm not far from Opry Mills (Bass Pro mainly). It has some nice small rooms, it's just me, so it is perfect. I like that is sits back away from the road, and it also has a big enough back yard for what I need. It has a detached garage and it long so I will have plenty of room in it for storage and other things. It even has a small shed that will come in handle to keep things for the patio area.

Right now I'm just waiting on the lending because where they send the docs they got a lot of snow and lost power, so now it's just a sit and wait time. I'll be glad when I actually get to take over and it's mine so I can start to put my stuff in it and not have it lingering. But until then I do have some ideas to do to my own house. I am a laid back easy going guy, and a lot of redneckist qualities like I love the lake, boats, trucks, and loud muscle cars. But I will try not to make the house look like a redneck trailer park trailer. Right now the insides look nice and I like the colors of the paint on the inside, so I will try to make it a little nice. Not girlie, but maybe girl friendly since I haven't had much luck, ok any luck in that area in a while.

I will post some ideas I have
